I always crave a comforting, hearty dish during cold winter weather. Since I absolutely love to include green leafy vegetables in my winter meals, Saag is one ingredient that’s always available in my kitchen this season. Today, I have a very simple yet deliciously nutritious Keto-Friendly Saag Paneer Recipe to share. Full of aromatic spices and rich flavor, this dish has all the right ingredients to satiate your cravings and keep you warm. And, the best part is that it’s gluten-free and vegetarian, making it a perfect low-carb meal for those following a Ketogenic Lifestyle like me.
It is a completely nutrient-packed recipe with healthy fats from olive oil and paneer. Plus, the perfect blend of spices will certainly please your taste buds. Besides being a good source of vitamins, the addition of heavy cream makes saag irresistibly rich and smooth to taste, making it a perfect winter delight.

Ingredients:
- 450g spinach
- 400g paneer (Indian cottage cheese)
- 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
- 1 bunch of cilantro
- 2 tomatoes
- 1 small onion
- 1 bay leaf
- 2 green chilies
- 1 tbsp garam masala
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 3 tbsp heavy cream
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1/4 tsp turmeric
- salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
- Add spinach to a pot of water and bring it to a boil. Let it cook for one to two minutes and drain once it’s cooked. Keep it aside for cooling.
- Take a separate pan and add 1 tbsp olive oil to stir fry paneer.
- Add seasoning to paneer with salt, pepper, turmeric, and garam masala.
- Take out fried paneer on a plate and keep it aside.
- Now, put spinach in a food processor to blend well to form a puree.
- Add some oil to a pan and let it heat.
- Add bay leaf with cumin seeds in heated oil until the cumin seeds begin to pop.
- Now, add chopped onions, tomatoes, green chilies and let it cook until translucent or up to 2-3 minutes.
- Stir in ginger-garlic paste and garam masala for an additional 30 seconds.
- Mix spinach and paneer in the pan and let it cook for another 2 minutes.
- Add heavy cream to it and add salt and pepper to taste. Let it simmer for 10 minutes over medium-low flame.
- Serve hot!
